We are marking some big milestones this year. 25 years since NaturalPoint was founded, and 15 years for OptiTrack. To celebrate, we are highlighting key employees and teams within the company, and giving you a special behind the scenes look at the teams that make it all happen. The goal: tell the story of how the best motion capture cameras in the world are created.

Introducing Mazak, the machines that help make it all happen! These fully automated unmanned machines have 18,000 RPM spindles, the capacity to hold 180 cutting tools, and run 24/7. Fun fact: all the axis's have traveled a combined 12,000 miles, that's the equivalent to traveling across the USA 4.5 times! Our Mazak machines are essential to making our in house manufacturing possible, truly incredible pieces of machinery.

After we're done machining the world's most accurate motion capture cameras from scratch at our Corvallis HQ, we make sure there's no waste in the process. Every month we collect and donate a minimum of 10,000 pounds of aluminum to a local recycling plant.

Meet Johnie! With over 26 years experience, she is the Lead Hand Solder here at OptiTrack and has been with the company since 2014. She deems her work, "challenging but fun" and has even shared her incredible skillset with her four grandkids, teaching them all how to solder a clock this past year.

Meet Juan! Coming up on his one year anniversary with OptiTrack, Juan works in the Machine Shop as a Production Specialist. He enjoys collaborating with his team and coming up with innovative ideas to continually improve the process. Growing up in the area, Juan likes spending his time with his wife, two kids, and dog going fishing and golfing. Than you Juan for always being such an upbeat presence at HQ!

Meet Bill! Bill is our SMT Line Operator, seen here loading feeder components to be placed from the reel to the boards. He's been with the company for eight years now, and says his favorite part of the job is seeing things be build from start to finish. In his free time he likes to build computers and tinker with electronics. Shortly after starting his job, someone said they wished there were two of him, and little did they know there actually was! Three weeks after he started, his identical twin brother joined the team and is running the T5 line to this day. Thank you Bill this all of your hard work!
